Pastor's Heart

Pastor Kyle Ishizaka and his lovely wife, Chris, have a desire to serve the people of Hawaii, to see them mature in Christ, and be mobilized to do the work of the heavenly kingdom.

From Pastor Kyle

In the gospel of John, chapter 7, Jesus speaks to the people and says, "whoever believes in me (Jesus), streams of living water will flow from within him."  John 7:39 says, "By this he meant the Spirit, whom those who believed in him were later to receive."

This Spirit that Jesus talked about is given to all those that believe Jesus is God.  That He came to this earth as a baby; born to a virgin, fully human, yet divine and perfect in nature.  Jesus is the only one that did not sin; perfect in every way.  Jesus came to this earth to be an offering for our sins.  Prior to Jesus' death on the cross, the people of Israel would go to the temple every year and seek atonement or forgiveness for their sins.  These people would bring their offerings to the priest in the form of bulls, goats, lambs, doves, live animals, to be sacrificed and to have these animals' blood shed to cover over their mistakes and sins.

You see, according to the law, sin was punishable by death.  In order for people to cover their sins and mistakes each year, death needed to take place.  The animal's death and shed blood took the place of the people's.

Jesus, at the appointed time, became the final and last sacrifice to ever be done.  When He died upon the cross, beaten and whipped for our sins, no other sacrifice was needed in God's eyes.

God realized that no one, not you or me, could ever live up to the law.  We all fall short of the law.  Each one of us has broken some part of the law at some point of our lives.  Whether it be by lying or stealing, the law stated if we broke it, it was punishable by death.  Blood needed to be shed.

God, understanding this, came to this earth in the form of Jesus to restore a relationship with His created beings.  He took the form of a man, a man that never sinned, and He died and shed His blood for us so we could be atoned for.

In no other religion, do we see god coming to the earth to make it right with his people.  Other religions have men trying to do all that is possible to please their god and gain their way into heaven.

For followers of Christ, it's not about what we do, but what we believe.  Scripture says that if we "confess with our mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in our hearts he was raised from the dead, then we shall be saved."  (Romans 10:9) "Saved" meaning we too will have everlasting life.  It's through our faith and belief that Jesus was raised from the dead that "saves" us.  The same power that raised Jesus from the dead, will also raise us from the dead and give us everlasting life.

That power would be the Holy Spirit that Jesus talked about in the gospel of John whom would be given to all those that believe.  The same Spirit that transformed the disciple Peter from one that denied Christ three times before Jesus' death to one that was willing to die crucified upside down because he felt unworthy to die in the same way as Jesus.

This Spirit is available to all that believe.  All one needs to do is ask and the Spirit will be given to them, asking from the heart sincerely.

Once the Spirit is given to you and lives in your heart, you will be able to encourage others.  Streams of living water will flow through you and you can be an oasis to others.

In Christ's Love,

Pastor Kyle Ishizaka

God's people, an "Oasis" in a parched world.
